Al-Khaliq has always had a passion for food from childhood, watching his Mom and Grandmother cook food for family and friends. Always intrigued, eventually he began to pickup some of their techniques and flavors. Born in New Jersey and raised partially in Georgia, he has blended southern style cuisine with northeastern and Caribbean influences. Khaliq has worked in various restaurant settings including, but not limited to. McCormick & Schmick’s and Capital City Club. After many years of honing his craft and managing several kitchens he decided to take his culinary career to the next level and enrolled in LeCordon Bleu school of culinary arts (GA). He successfully completed his culinary studies and trained under culinary Olympian silver medal recipient chef Mark Brown at the River Club in Suwanee GA. Currently Khaliq is happy to have found his new home and is working closely in menu planning and helping the growth of Nancy G’s with G.M. Erik Ehlers and Owner Nancy Goodrich.
